I had the opportunity to work on a rebranding project for The Happy Hippy, a small, family-owned business with locations in Derry and North Hampton, New Hampshire. Their original logo and branding didn’t fully capture their mission of “Fostering good vibes, peace, love, and happiness.” The goal was to develop a fresh brand identity that better reflected their handmade, local, warm, and trippy aesthetic while staying true to their roots.
To achieve this, I focused on creating a playful yet cohesive visual identity, incorporating organic shapes, earthy tones, and psychedelic-inspired elements. The redesigned logo and branding embrace a retro, free-spirited feel, evoking a sense of nostalgia while remaining approachable and modern. This new identity helps The Happy Hippy stand out, strengthening its connection with both loyal customers and new visitors.
The new logo draws inspiration from the '70s, featuring hand-drawn typography, warm color tones, and a friendly, whimsical hippie character. The 'y' in 'Happy' cleverly forms a mustache, adding to the fun, playful vibe of the new mascot. The complete rebrand included the logo, a stationery set, stickers, an animated logo, and a series of posters.
